From Rodale News
Whether you’re living in the City That Never Sleeps or a one-streetlight town, the truth is that our culture loves to leave the lights on. Our obsession with light isn’t just costly (as my Dad reminded me numerous times when I was a child to “turn off the light because I’m not made of money”), but more importantly, it’s also harmful to the environment.
To shed some light onto the situation, for one hour all around the world, people are turning off their lights to raise awareness for global conservation and the issue of climate change. The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, local time. It’s a small act that, collectively, shows a great commitment to a larger issue.
Want to make a bigger impact with your light switch? Timex is collecting pledges using #TimeToGLO. For every pledge collected, Timex will donate $1 to the Earth Hour organization
