Medicare Made Simple

We Get it-Medicare can be confusing!

Between all the parts, the deadlines, and the piles of junk mail, its easy to feel overwhelmed. That's why we take the time the time to break it all down in simple terms. At Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group, We'll walk you through what Medicare covers, what it doesn't, and why many people choose to add extra coverage like a supplement or a Medicare Advantage plan, - to help with things like prescriptions, dental or out of pocket costs.

A lot of folks worry about penalties or making the wrong choice, and that's where we come in. We offer easy-to-understand Medicare 101 workshops all year long.

Not all medical groups are made equal. At Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group, we have special resources, events, and preventative care for seniors with Medicare.

Take a moment to hear from Rick Howells, our Senior Vice President of Network and Business Development, as he explains why understanding why coordinated care matters- and why choosing the right medical group can make all the difference for your health as a patient.

Medicare 101 Workshops

Whether you are a Heritage member or not, we invite you to attend one of our workshops and stay informed! The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is the time every year when you can make changes to your Medicare coverage, whether it be adjustments to your current coverage or a whole new plan, we have the resources to help you make a confident informed decision.

Part A-Hospital Coverage

Think of Part A as your "room and board" at the hospital. It helps cover things like hospital stays, skilled nursing care, and even hospice. Most people don't pay a monthly premium for this one. Its usually already covered if you've worked and paid into Medicare long enough.

Part B-Doctor Visits & Outpatient Care

Part B is what you use when you go to the doctor, get lab work done, or need things like X-rays or physical Therapy. It also covers preventive care like annual checkups. You do pay a monthly premium for this, and there's usually a 20% cost share after Medicare pays its part.

Part C-Medicare Advantage Plans.

This is where things can get a little confusing. Part C(also called Medicare Advantage) is a plan from a private insurance company that bundles your Part A, Part B and usually Part D all in one. Many of these plans also include extras like dental, vision, hearing, and even gym memberships

Part D-Prescription Drug Coverage

Part D helps cover the cost of your medications. You can get a standalone drug plan or choose a Medicare Advantage plan that includes it. If you don't enroll in Part D when you're first eligible, you could get a penalty later-so it's important to understand your timing.
