The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Victorville starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and continues through 10 a.m. Sunday.
First, the 24-hour walk event at Victor Valley College is open for the community to attend. Relay for Life is the world’s largest fundraising effort to end cancer. Therefore, its bringing communities from all over the world to celebrate survivors. Then also allows them to remember lost loved ones. Although, this year’s event has so far accumulated 29 teams. In addition, it has allowed 345 participants to engage in a community activity. Above all it has raised more than $24,000 and continues to grow in the Victorville community.
The Relay For Life is full of a dedicated group in our community that is attacking cancer. From people who team up with friends a family full of support to volunteers, we all want to be involved and remember those we’ve lost. The proceeds go to those who are affected today, and the amount of support we see at this event is amazing. Some funds are donated, individuals time is donated to the cause, and there is worldwide awareness raised, while people in our communities are teaming up to make a difference and save lives. As teams rally together for this event to fight the big fight against cancer, it is an inspiration to those fight being able to accomplish anything.
