On August 26, 2008, Barstow Community Hospital held a Barstow Kids Care Fair at the Cora Harper Fitness Center.

It was an event where immunizations and health screenings were offered.

Heritage Victor Victor Valley Medical Group (HVVMG) performed blood pressure, oxygen level (pulse oximetry) and nutrition information for each of the youth. The staff of HVVMG offered four games for the kids and each participant received a HVVMG T-shirt.

Many other screenings were also available; vision, dental, height/weight, scoliosis, oxygen level. Immunizations included Pnumococcal, MMR, DTaP, polio, Hepatitis A & B and Hib, PCV-7, and HPV.
